Silvia Tcherassi Fall/Winter 2010
“3-D” is a prêt-à-porter de luxe collection whose distinctive features include the incorporation of three-dimensional textures achieved through the multi layering of different materials including printed velvet, chiffon, taffeta, Swarovski crystals and metal.
These materials were applied in an artistic, avant-garde manner through an elaborate weaving process of the textiles and exclusively developed for the designer in Italy. The silhouettes, including cocoon shapes, are fluid and enveloping and in some cases were achieved by a single seam.
The color palette for Fall includes intense shades and neutrals that allow the textures to generate a subtle but impacting contrast, highlighting the graphite, midnight blue, the nudes and the gold tones.
The looks are accentuated by handmade headpieces, accessories which are unique by nature and stylized versions of the Colombian “mochila” bag elaborated by women of the indigenes Wayuu community while submitted to a non-invasive intervention using tone-on-tone Swarovski crystals. In addition, this collection includes the first luxury bag exclusively for the Ipad designed by Tcherassi.
